Anonymous asked: That CollegeHumor vid brought to mind a cool thing I read in a book called 'Millenial Monsters'.

The FCC specifically bans slogans like "You need this" or "You have to buy this on products marketed for children. However "Gotta Catch Em All" was passed because it was a reference to a mechanic of the game and it was able to air and be used for children's toys. This is purely a U.S. thing and the slogan was not used elsewhere.

Just wanted to share.

This is definitely why Pokemon is one of the most successful children franchises! But that’s an awesome find! This is why Pokemon will forever be the best childhood memory ever. Clearly everything else pales in comparison!
